Obtaining a Commercial Building Permit

A building permit is necessary in Northport Village prior to the commencement of most types of construction projects, small or large.

Building permits are required for additions, alterations and all accessory structures including but not limited to antennae, arbors, pergolas, trellises, awnings, balcony, basement, barn, carp;ort, cellar entrance, chimneys, communications towers, conversions, decks, demolitions, elevators, ramps, fireplaces, foundations, garages, generators, HVAC units, hoods and ducts, hot tubs, porches, ramps, retaining walls, satellite dishes, sheds, solar units, stables, stoops, storage buildings and stoves.

The first step toward obtaining a building permit from the Northport Village Department of Housing and Code Compliance is to print out and read and/or fill out each page in the Building Permit Packet

If you are unable to view and/or print the entire packet, you may come to Village Hall where you will be provided one. Village Hall is located at 224 Main Street and can be reached by phone at 261-7502.
